A Guide To Seeing Auras

Seeing the aura is a matter of taking your gaze out of focus. If you've ever been able to see those holographic picture-in-a-picture things then you shouldn't have any trouble seeing auras as you do exactly the same thing with your eyes.

How To See Somebody's Aura

Have your training partner stand in front of a light-coloured wall in dim lighting. Ask your partner to hold one finger, about 6 inches from their chin, in front of their face.

Instead of looking at their face, focus your attention on their finger. Ask them to remove their fingers but keep staring at the same spot. Your eyes will need to relax a little so you can do this. In the same relaxed state, if you look at them, you should see what appears to be a thin line that runs along their body a couple of inches from the edge of it.

The next layer out is even fainter and may have colours associated with it. The different meanings of the colours vary widely depending on who you're talking to. My advice in this area is to open up your awareness. See for yourself which colours seem to be associated most often with which types of people and their behaviours. Check out our guide to Aura Colours to learn more about auras and the meanings behind their colours.

Play with this a bit. Does their aura change when they think happy thoughts? Sad thoughts? Angry thoughts?

Some people can see auras instantly and others have to work at it. Don't be too concerned if it takes a while. As you work with this you'll gradually become aware of even more subtle layers of energy that surround people. Also, you might find that you are able to feel the chakras of other people and even determine which chakra is dominant. Using this, you know instantly what type of reaction he or she will have to any given stimulus.
